Stc Trade
Our story
STC Trade creates an environmentally-friendly alternative to the common filters made of steel (a very corrosion-sensitive material) that needs to be replaced almost every year.
Sustainable seawater filters
STC Trade designs and manufactures custom-made filters for ships with an almost unlimited lifespan. The filters, developed under the brand name STC Perfoplast™, are a durable, non-corrosive, high-performance alternative for common metal filters. The filters are made of HDPE: a strong, light and durable material with excellent seawater resistance. The strong material and its excellent corrosion-resistance results in an (almost) unlimited lifespan. As a result, the cost of ownership is much lower.
Preferred supplier since 2015
Based in the Netherlands, STC Trade successfully introduced the STC Perfoplast™ filters in the Dutch superyacht industry and has been the preferred supplier to many leading Dutch superyacht builders since. Over 600 filters are onboard various superyachts around the world, including the new plastic filters for bilge water.
Soon the STC Perfoplast™ filters were introduced into the commercial shipping sector to further their bid to preserve the environment. IHC and Damen shipyards have been applying filters from STC Trade in Econosto inlet strainers. Ship management companies like Anglo Eastern also replaced the rusty, corroded filters for our sustainable filters.
More sustainable solutions
Although the STC Perfoplast™ filters are the main focus of the business, STC Trade also designs and delivers fibre-glass reinforced plastic strainers (mud boxes), called STC Fiberstrain™, and special tools for the world of plastic pipe installation.
Thanks to our product developments, STC Trade can offer greatly improved solutions for your ship.
Brands that are part of STC Trade
STC Trade developed perforated plastic sheets under the brand name STC Perfoplast™. This durable, strong and light material (HDPE) is used for our seawater filters. Its excellent corrosion-resistance results in an (almost) unlimited lifespan.
STC Fiberstrain™ inlet strainers are available for fresh water and seawater. Compared to the common metal versions, our strainers results in enormous weight savings and a low cost of ownership. L3-certified for usage in engine rooms of seaworthy vessels.
The heating blankets for curing GRE joints are used as heaters for barrels, liquids, pipes and other applications. We offer heating blankets with a built-in controller and with an external controller. Find out more about our heating blankets.
