SMM 2024
Our attendance at SMM 2024 was a great success. The event gave us an important opportunity to reconnect with our European clients and maintain strong relationships. It’s always valuable for us to engage directly with our customers, discuss their current needs, and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
SMM is the go-to event for the maritime industry. We’ve been incredibly busy here and made many new business contacts.
I cannot recall a single SMM where the days were so successful. We can clearly see shipowners making every effort to reduce operational costs. We engaged new possibilities with the Turkish interest and will be attending Europort in Istanbul in October.

Genova Boat Show 2021
Last September, STC Trade was at the Genova Boat Show, one of the largest boat show in the Mediterrane for luxury yachts, superyachts, sailing boats and equipment. Here we present our HDPE filters at the booth of Guidi SRL, an Italian family business that has a big share in the Marine market for bronze fittings, valves and strainers.

Lightweight filters for High-Speed Crafts developed for Damen Shipyards
Over the past 2 years, Damen Shipyards has developed a series of High-Speed Crafts: fast lightweight vessels, such as the coastguard. Because weight plays a very important role, STC Trade was contacted due to previous experiences with STC TRADE’s plastic seawater filters. The ships vary in length and function, therefore 4 types of seawater filters have been developed. A 5th type has recently been added.

Sustainable STC Fiberstrain™ strainers for Royal Huisman
Recently, STC Trade delivered new HDPE inlet strainers to Royal Huisman for the sailboat Foftein. For these STC Fiberstrain™ strainers, connection dimensions DN100 were used with tight installation dimensions. Furthermore, the vent had to be on the port side, at a different angle than on the starboard side. Although many standard strainers have been supplied to Royal Huisman, these specific inlet strainers were a unique design challenge.
The strainers were delivered within the agreed time. Royal Huisman has announced that the strainers fully meet all expectations and are neatly finished.

About STC Fiberstrain ™ strainers
STC Trade B.V. has developed special and profitable HDPE inlet strainers permitted by Lloyds for usage in engine rooms. These strainers has many advantages compared to metal versions. The enormous weight savings and the low cost of ownership are the most obvious benefits.
