Through an exclusive partnership, ERIKS has included new and sustainable plastic elements in its range: plastic filters developed by STC Trade.
Partnership with ERIKS
ERIKS is an international industrial service provider, a multi-product specialist offering a wide range of high-quality mechanical engineering components and associated technical and logistics services. ERIKS currently has branches in 17 countries, with a strong position in Western Europe, the United States and a presence in South-east Asia.

Sustainable filters
Filters in ships or yachts, used to remove unwanted material like pollution in the water, are usually made out of metal, which is a very corrosion-sensitive material. Metal filters need to be regularly cleaned and replaced due to their limited lifespan – which can be as little as one year. In turn, the increased production has a negative impact on the environment.
STC Trade has developed filters made of HDPE and glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRE or GRVE). Both HDPE and GRP are extremely suitable for corrosion by seawater and external influences. The filters are strong, smooth and firm. Another benefit of the filters is their design – their lightweight feature enables them to be lifted out of the inlet strainer and cleaned easily by one person.
Contract signing
During the Europort exhibition on November the 5th the official contract signing of cooperation between ERIKS and STC Trade took place.
